Chasing Gold, a Westlake Pacific Media Production, is an independent video documentary series following a sports club or high school national champion as they attempt to go back to back. It is about how difficult and challenging it is to keep momentum, having a target on your back, working in new players and maintaining an extreme work ethic to succeed. Combine all of that with the pressures of school, relationships, family and work, that is Chasing Gold, the series.

THOUSAND OAKS VOLLEYBALL CLUB GOES FOR BACK TO BACK NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP
Spectrum U17 Subject of New Documentary Chasing Gold

WESTLAKE/THOUSAND OAKS, California-June 15, 2016 – The Spectrum Volleyball Club announced today that their 17s Boys team, the 2015 USA Volleyball 16 Open Boys’ Jr. National Championship team, has been picked to be followed in a sports documentary called “Chasing Gold”. Now playing in the U-17s age group as a 17s team, they currently ranked as the #1 U17 boys’ team in the United States will be playing for back-to-back national championship. “Our club has been honored to have such talented players and coaches for so many years,” states Chris Harger, founder and owner of the Spectrum Volleyball Club and former Middle Blocker for the U.S. Men’s National Team. “We are proof there are great advantages in playing for smaller clubs, where coaches can truly focus on improving individual talent.”

The sports documentary is a series called Chasing Gold following teams from a national championship moment to the steps taking in an attempt to repeat. This series is about maintaining the highest level of excellence when a target is clearly on your back and with everyone you play. Combine that with family, relationships, school pressure and performance pressure of 16 and 17 year old boys; that is Chasing Gold the series,” states Sean Sullivan, Film Producer of Chasing Goal at Westlake Pacific Media. “We have set the production value bar high on this project as it is being shot professionally and in Ultra High-Definition (4K). The trailer is available to watch at www.chasing.gold.

The team is comprised largely of Conejo Valley’s best. However, the allure and chance of winning a second Gold medal has drawn new players in as far away as San Diego and Santa Barbara. The team is Tim Baldwin (Oak Park), Sean Fitzpatrick (Oak Park), Adam Parks (Oak Park), Alex Parks (Oak Park), Maclain Pfeiffer (Calabasas), Steven Quandt (Simi Valley), Tanner Hixon (Westlake Village), Connor Otto (Agoura Hills), Brett Kallman (Westlake Village), Alex Faille (Thousand Oaks), Archish Anand (Westlake Village), Jack Copeland (Santa Barbra) and Colin Bailey (San Diego).

The team is coached by local volleyball standout player and coach Adam Quinn (Oak Park H.S., Moorpark College, IPFW). Quinn has coached the team to their two national medals, 2013 Bronze, 14 Open 6th place finish in US and 2015 Gold. “We have always been very close to taking gold. In 2013 we won the bronze in the 14 Open, and in 2014 we were upset in the 1st round of playoffs of the gold bracket after going undefeated the entire tournament.” stated Quinn. “This last year our guys stepped up. We were finally able to carry our momentum into the playoffs, win those last few matches, and take home the gold and the national championship.”

"Coach Adam Quinn is a volleyball mastermind. I have never seen an on-court coach thinks how he thinks,” Tim Baldwin

"We would not have the success we have now if it were not coach Quinn’s commitment to this team. He is always there for us; always pushing us to be better,” Adam Parks (UCLA commit)

"Unexplainable on how much he has helped me with my game" Sean Fitzpatrick

We say his coaching wins us about five points a game. I think he is the best coach there is out there,” Alex Parks (UCLA commit)
